Weoley Castle Children's Centre opened in 2007. It operates from rooms within a purpose-built building which is situated in a residential area on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre. The centre is registered to care for a maximum of 16 children under eight years in the breakfast and after school club and a maximum of six children in the crèche at any one time. The school club sessions are from 08.00 until 09.00 and from 15.00 until 18.00 term time only. A holiday club operates from approximately 08.00 until 16.00 during school holidays. All children have access to a secure enclosed area for outdoor play. The provision employs seven staff to work with the children of whom two thirds hold an appropriate early years qualification while those remaining are working towards an appropriate qualification.
