This is a much larger than average primary school which serves an area close to Leeds city centre. Just over half of the pupils are known to be eligible for free school meals. Nearly half of all the pupils are from a minority ethnic background and the proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is more than twice the national average. The proportion of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities is well above average and the number with a statement of special educational needs is average. Many pupils leave and join the school other than at the normal times and pupil mobility is therefore very high.
