St Oswald's is a larger than average-size primary school. A minority of pupils are of Pakistani heritage and a small minority are White British. The remainder represent a wide range of other ethnicities. The majority of pupils speak English as an additional language. The proportion of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities is well above average, as is the number of pupils known to be eligible for a free school meal. Pupils' mobility is high, with an above average number leaving and joining school partway through their primary education. The school has gained the Healthy Schools Award, Investors in People status,Investors in Pupils status, the Activemark and Drug Prevention Initiative. In our recent OfSTED inspection, we were judged as 'good'.
