This small secondary school serves an area on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent. The proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals is very high. The majority of pupils have learning difficulties and/or disabilities, and the proportion with a statement of special educational need is much higher than the national average. The school has recently gained specialist status as a business and enterprise college. The acting headteacher only took up post at the start of September.
