Kenmore Park is a larger than average infant school with a Nursery, serving a socially and ethnically mixed area. Most pupils are from minority ethnic groups. The predominant group is of Indian heritage, although 26 different languages are represented. The percentage of pupils who speak English as an additional language is very high and a majority of these pupils are in the early stages of learning English. The percentage of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities is above average, but the percentage of pupils with a statement of special educational needs is below average. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals is above average. Mobility is very high and many pupils join and leave other than at the usual times. The Early Years Foundation Stage provision is a Nursery class providing 52 part time places and four Reception classes. The school has achieved the Basic Skills Award, Activemark and Healthy School Award. There is a joint governing body for this school, the neighbouring junior school and a Children's Centre. The latter two settings were not part of this inspection. The breakfast and after-school club is also shared with the junior school.
