Manorside is an average sized primary school. Over 80% of pupils are from minority ethnic backgrounds, the vast majority of whom have English as an additional language. About 100 pupils are at an early stage of acquiring English. A quarter of the pupils are from families seeking refuge in the United Kingdom. Around a third of the pupils have learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Most of the pupils who need extra support have speech and communication problems, are falling behind, or have physical disabilities.
