Owton Manor is smaller than the average-sized primary school. Almost all pupils are White British and others are mainly of Asian heritage. A very small number are learning English as an additional language. A very high proportion of pupils are known to be eligible for free school meals. A well-above-average proportion of pupils have special educational needs and/or disabilities, although the number with a statement of special educational needs is very low. The school has additional resources to help pupils in Key Stage 2 with speech and language difficulties and provides speech and language support for Key Stage 1 pupils in nearby schools. The school has gained Healthy School status, the Activemark and the Eco-school Bronze award.
